National Consumer Protection Week, March 3-9, 2024, is a time to help people understand their consumer rights and avoid frauds and scams. The FTC has posted a schedule of related events.
We remind you to review “Your Funeral Consumer Rights in Massachusetts” for a succinct summary of your rights in this state.
This week our volunteers are active on several fronts. On March 4, our Price Study Committee meets to continue collection of price lists from western Mass funeral homes (in preparation for posting an updated Price Comparison Chart this spring). On March 6, Sandy Ward will speak with a Springfield group about our mission and services in protecting consumer rights. Alex Tinari will give a presentation March 7 at the Ashfield Council on Aging. And, as always, one of our board members is monitoring incoming email and phone calls to respond consumer questions.
