We are glad to welcome members of our long-term sister organization, the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Eastern Massachusetts (FCAWM).
A letter from the Board of the FCAEM mailed this September to all their members announced the decision to close and summarized the good work that had been accomplished since founding in 1962. In that mailing was an invitation to transfer membership to us, the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Western Massachusetts, because we share the same mission and have collaborated on projects such as the newly-expanded statewide website (funeralsma.org).
We are very sad about the closure of FCAEM, but glad to offer a way for former FCAEM supporters to continue involvement in this important work of educating about and protecting consumer rights for affordable, meaningful after-death care.
We hope that many of FCAEM’s “life-long” members will choose this no-cost transfer, which provides full rights of participation in FCAWM including eligibility to vote in our elections (e.g., THIS COMING SUNDAY October 4th) and to serve on our board.
