MAVRIC is the state’s new, modernized system for processing vital events. As of June 2, 2025, MAVRIC replaces the previous Vitals Information Partnership (VIP) system for death registrations. Preparation for this change has been underway for over a year, with trainings and webinars for the following groups: City and Town Clerks, Burial Agents, Funeral Directors, Medical Certifiers, Medical Examiners, Medical Facility Staff, and RN/NP/PA Pronouncers. As consumers, we do not need to do anything about this change, except perhaps have patience and understanding that so many behind-the-scenes people have had to learn new processes.
