Our volunteers will be presenting information at many senior centers in the coming weeks. Council on Aging (COA) staff have invited us to give presentations and/or participate in their information fairs. All of these are free and open to the public. Here’s a list of when and where you can find us in-person:

  • Sept. 19, 6:00-7:30 pm, Stanton Hall, 26 Russell Rd, Huntington. “What To Know Before You Go” talk by Sandy Ward, co-hosted by the Huntington Public Library and the Huntington COA.
  • Sept. 23, 10:30 am-12 noon, East Longmeadow COA, 328 N. Main St., “What To Know Before You Go” program with Sandy Ward
  • Sept. 27, 11am-2pm, Williamstown COA Wellness Fair, The Harper Center, 118 Church Street, Williamstown. Alex Tinari and Sandy Ward will be there to greet you and answer questions.
  • Oct. 7, 10:30 am-12 noon, East Longmeadow COA, 328 N. Main St. “Green Burial” by Joan Pillsbury
  • Oct. 8, 4:00-6:00pm, Amherst COA Health Fair, Bangs Community Center, 70 Boltwood Walk, Amherst.
  • Oct. 10, 9am-1pm, Holyoke COA Health & Wellness Fair, 291 Pine St., Holyoke.
  • Nov. 1, Dec 4, 10:30-11:30am, “Options for Final Arrangements” South County Senior Center, (serving South Deerfield, Sunderland, and Whately), 22 Amherst Rd, Sunderland.

  • Our Annual Meeting & Program on Sunday October 20, 2:00-4:00pm, will feature speaker Lee Webster, “You Can Do This: Family-Led Funerals”, 220 Main Street, Northampton, MA. You can come in person or watch via Zoom. No cost, but preregistration is required.
  • Deathcare SuperconferenceBuilding Bridges in the Deathcare Landscape” Sept 27-29 in Seattle, WA, with option ($60 registration fee) for online viewing of panel presentations and discussions on Saturday Sept. 28, 1pm-8:40pm Eastern Time.
  • Funeral Consumers Alliance of Eastern Massachusetts (FCAEM), Annual Meeting and Program, Saturday, October 19, 2:00pm at Friends Meeting at Cambridge, 5 Longfellow Park, Cambridge MA (in person or remote). “Living in the Shadow of Death“.   • MCOA Conference, Falmouth, MA. Sandy Ward (FCAWM) and Patti Muldoon (FCAEM) will be in the Exhibit Hall October 23-24, 8am-5pm, to greet conference attendees and provide information.
